Brand and web studio Victoria BC Est. 2019

Small on purpose. Six projects a year, each one built like it is ours.

Fieldnote is June Okafor and Peter Hale, working from a two-desk studio above a framing shop on Fort Street. June designs, Peter builds. No account managers, no juniors, no surprises on the invoice.

We tried twelve projects one year. The work got thinner and the emails got longer. Six is the number where both of us stay on every project from kickoff to launch.

Portrait of June Okafor, designer and co-founder of Fieldnote

Design

June Okafor

Eight years leading brand work at a Vancouver agency before opening Fieldnote. Sets every wordmark by hand first, on paper, before it touches a screen.

Portrait of Peter Hale, developer and co-founder of Fieldnote

Build

Peter Hale

Sent his first invoice in 2011 and has built for print shops, cideries, and one very patient orchestra since. Cares about load times the way June cares about kerning.

We book two projects a quarter. The next opening is October 2026.

Write to us with what you make, where you are, and roughly when you want to launch. We reply within one business day, and we will tell you plainly if we are not the right fit.
